GRT stands for "Gamo Replacement Trigger blade." The "4" stands for "For," and the final "G" stands for "Gamo." Hence: GRT-4G.

The GRT-4G trigger blade is designed exclusively for the newer models of Gamo air rifles that now feature a plastic trigger module. THIS INCLUDES THE NEW SAT TRIGGER. If the rifle has a plastic trigger, it requires the GRT-4G trigger blade. Due to its geometry and design, it is not compatible with any other models and cannot be used in any other rifles at this time. It will work in any of the Gamo spring-powered rifles or gas-ram rifles, including future modifications to gas-ram models.

Why design the new GRT-4G trigger

With the earlier model Gamo air rifles (and also all of the Gamo airgun clones), one of the major issues was the terrible trigger. It had a very hard, long pull, and you never knew when it was going to fire. It used the Theoben/Gamo trigger design, and it was one of the biggest drawbacks to the shooter’s accuracy. The shooter is always focusing on the trigger rather than the target, and it is almost impossible to keep the gun from drifting off target when firing.

The new Gamo factory trigger design has all the same issues that the earlier Gamo models had, and many say it's even worse. This new factory trigger design is found in all newer Gamo air rifles, and we don't expect any changes in the near future. So, you don’t need to contact me to ask if the GRT-4G fits a particular late-model Gamo. It fits all late-model Gamos with the plastic trigger.

The GRT-III trigger was designed to address the issues with early-model Gamo triggers, and the GRT-4G is now the solution for late-model Gamos. As with the GRT-III, the GRT-4G trigger blade will help significantly improve your accuracy with your late-model Gamo.

What is the GRT-4G trigger blade made of?

The GRT-4G trigger blade is made of gold-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum and is compatible with all new, late-model Gamo airguns that use a plastic trigger. It is designed to work exclusively with late-model Gamo airguns that use a plastic trigger and will not fit any other models.

Although the components of the GRT-4G trigger blade mod are not subjected to heavy stress, their ability to maintain a precise adjustment over a long period of time is critical to delivering the long-term improvement in shooting accuracy that you paid for. It is for this reason that the GRT-4G trigger blade is CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machined from a high-grade aluminum alloy known for its strength. The blade is then anodized to provide wear and corrosion resistance

What does the GRT-4Gamo trigger blade do?

The GRT-4G trigger blade alters both the internal geometry and the ergonomics of the new Gamo trigger module—which features a plastic trigger—converting it from what is claimed to be a 2-stage trigger to a true 2-stage trigger design, while simultaneously dramatically reducing the trigger pull weight without compromising the new three-point safety trigger.

NOTE: The latest version of the GRT-4G trigger blade no longer has a first-stage adjustment screw. There are two reasons for this.

First, the optimal first-stage adjustment has now been machined and built into the trigger blade; second, it prevents accidentally disengaging the safety.

But it's not just the improved trigger pull that makes the GRT-4G trigger so great. Just as important—and perhaps even more so—are the trigger's ergonomic features. The ergonomic design changes greatly enhance the trigger, resulting in a much more controlled trigger pull. That's what makes the biggest difference in improving both accuracy and consistency.

There are a few people out there who say that ergonomics don't matter.... but......, those who have experience with both the OEM trigger and the GRT-4G trigger blade know the difference, and given the choice, will choose the GRT-4G trigger every time. It all comes down to what you expect for your money, and with the GRT-4G trigger blade, you get it all.
