Did we mention that we fell in love with the Taipan Slash? I’m sure we did.
Because that gun looks just like a semi-auto Edgun Leshiy 2 with a carbon bottle, Behemoth suppressor, and sleek handguard with MLOK slots!

That’s another legendary model that’s been making enthusiasts drool ever since it was introduced. Admittedly, it’s really a rifle for short distances. The trigger feel and the short barrel make it difficult to shoot with it at ranges longer than 50 meters.
Well, that’s good news! The Slash Tactical has all those Edgun L2 features PLUS a good trigger PLUS a longer barrel PLUS a removable, sturdy magazine.
So we were all set: we attached the MLOK adapter so we could mount a nice low bipod underneath, and put the big Sightron S8 on top (sorry, that’s our new scope that we always use for testing).
We followed Taipan’s recommendation to use JSB KO 216 MK2 pellets, and we were very pleased with the results.
What a fantastic rifle that is! It’s really easy to handle and aim. The cheek rest provides excellent protection for your cheek. The Slash is whisper-quiet and shoots like a dream. It handled rapid follow-up shots with ease, too.
It took a bit of trial and error to figure out which slugs went in which magazine. Because: The slug magazine is too tight, so we used the pellet magazine instead. You really have to test it out properly. The Altaros 5.50 slugs we brought along, for example, were way too loose.
Of course, we tweaked the regulator pressure a bit beforehand. After all, the Labradar LX lets you take readings really quickly. The JSB KO 216 MK2s were flying a bit too fast at 296 m/s. So, we lowered that pressure a bit later in our workshop. Now it’s set to about 149 bar, which gives you speeds of 286 m/s. That’s already a lot better!
In any case: We’re happily continuing our testing, and this initial test will, of course, be followed up.
But: Wow! Hats off to Taipan. This Slash truly lives up to its name! It’s slashing through the competition in the semi-auto market with ease.
