RTI Prophet2 710mm barrel .30... Are those available straight from the factory? No, they're not officially available. So: let's just make them ourselves...
Today was the real test. With the Reg set to 150 bar, the JSB pellets (44 grains) flew at 300 m/s. That is indeed a bit too fast. But: Even so, there was some grouping at times.
Hmmmm, I adjusted the regulator to 10 bar lower. And... Voilà, here’s the result. Five ragged hits clustered together at 100 meters, according to the rules of the 100m competition. No fancy car jack, bipod, or rigid rear support. Not even clamped into a benchrest. Just using the bipod and “hand support” in the back. My day is totally made again!!!
Time to sell this and take on a new challenge. Because the destination isn't the goal—the goal is the journey to the destination. I don't know where I ever heard or read that... But: I totally get the point :-)
