The Huben .30 is a logical next step for Huben. The k1 platform, with its revolutionary design, has fully proven itself and has been perfected over the past 10 years.
Still, you don’t see much about this new caliber for the K1 on the internet. It’s a shame, but that’s just how it is.
So here is my own account.
First impression: wow! A handy rifle with nice, big slots in the magazine. This is going to be a blast. The manufacturer tested it with JSB .30 44-grain pellets. That’s nice, but: I just don’t like loading them into the magazine. You feed the pellet into the cylinder through the plastic loading port, but: it’s a lot of fiddling and twisting, and a pellet is pretty fragile. That doesn’t work well, so: I immediately mounted the Premium loading port on it. I did have to file down the wooden stock a bit. But: Look, that works perfectly.
It shoots incredibly easily. The trigger is really good for a semi-auto. And since I was having a good time at the shooting range anyway, I also opened a can of Knockout .30.
Load 5 rounds at a time and rotate the magazine until the first of the 5 rounds is positioned in front of the barrel. And, of course, keep the rifle held level because: The Knockout .30 is simply too small in diameter for the magazine. If you hold the barrel downward, it slides down and hits the edge of the barrel. Then you get hopeless jams, and you don’t want that. We’re waiting for a well-fitting oversized slug.
The Knockout performed great at the 100-meter mark. Take a look at the photo.
That's not bad at all!
On to shooting session number 2
